Position Overview

We're seeking a seasoned Senior Construction Project Manager to join our team. Reporting to the V.P. Construction, this role is accountable for project success and provides leadership to the project team. The successful candidate will be responsible for tracking project progress, reporting to the owner, and ensuring timely completion of projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide regular progress reports to the V.P. Construction on all aspects of project performance.
  • Collaborate with the Estimating Department on project budgeting and tendering.
  • Review and approve project invoices in a timely manner, ensuring accurate cost control documentation.
  • Lead and guide the Lundy project team to achieve schedule and budgetary goals.
  • Validate construction cost estimates, create schedules of values, and reconcile costs to mitigate budget overruns.
  • Review and approve trade contractor claims, ensuring accuracy and adjusting cost projections monthly.
  • Ensure project cash flow adequately covers project costs, analyzing risk and reporting monthly to the V.P. Construction.
  • Develop and update the master project schedule, creating a suitable work breakdown structure and setting realistic target dates and milestones.
  • Manage prime contracts, support the Estimating department with subcontract evaluation and negotiation, and integrate supplementary instructions.
  • Prepare and maintain project risk registers, communicating and reviewing project risks with stakeholders regularly.
  • Provide regular progress reports to project stakeholders on all aspects of the project, including safety, quality, budget, schedule, and risk.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in building ICI and/or residential construction projects, including base building fit-ups, warehouses, high-rise, and long-term care facilities.
  • Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent.
  • Certification such as PMP, P.Eng, etc. is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated success in prioritizing tasks, working on multiple projects simultaneously, and effectively leading teams.
  • A track record of effective leadership, communication, and collaboration with external clients and stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of contract terms and conditions, project financial controls, and QA/QC policies and procedures.
  • Design/build experience is an asset.
  • Committed team player with excellent interpersonal skills and progressive leadership style.
  • Strong mathematical and financial aptitude, with experience in project or construction management software.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Results-oriented with a sense of urgency and drive to succeed in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Resourceful, energetic, and well-organized, with the ability to set and manage competing priorities.
  • Driver's license and ability to travel to job sites.
  • Ability to obtain a Government of Canada 'Secret' security clearance is required.
