About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Grounds Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Ag Jobs Canada. As a key member of our grounds maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the care and maintenance of our outdoor spaces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Care and Maintenance of Gardens and Turf Areas
    • Watering and fertilizing plants to ensure optimal growth and health
    • Pruning and trimming shrubs and trees to maintain a neat and tidy appearance
  • Equipment Operation
    • Operating skid-steer loaders, small loaders, and ride-on mowers to maintain grounds and perform various tasks
  • Snow Removal and Winter Maintenance
    • Removing snow and ice from walkways, driveways, and parking lots
    • Sanding and salting entryways and other high-traffic areas
  • General Maintenance
    • Repairing potholes and grading gravel parking lots
    • Cleaning and repairing signs
    • Changing and disposing of garbage
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Diploma in Horticulture or equivalent experience in a grounds maintenance environment
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Strong working knowledge of plants and horticulture practices
    • Ability to operate various large and small equipment
    • Ability to stand, kneel, and bend for long periods of time
    • Ability to lift 25kg
    • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
    • Ability to traverse uneven ground and inclines
  • Personal Qualities
    • Good interpersonal skills
    • Ability to express ideas orally and in writing
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
