Salary

The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary of approximately $45,000 per year, based on industry standards and local market conditions.

Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious individual to showcase their creativity and skills as a Hair Stylist. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Cutting and trimming hair according to client instructions or preferences
  • Shampooing customers' hair
  • Shaving and trimming beards and mustaches
  • Providing other hair treatments, such as waving, straightening, tinting, and scalp conditioning massages
  • Supervising apprentices/students in training
  • Applying bleach, tints, dyes, or rinses to colour, frost, or streak hair
  • Cutting, trimming, tapering, curling, waving, perming, and styling hair
  • Suggesting hairstyles compatible with clients' physical features and preferences
  • Performing receptionist duties
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • A strong background in barbering trade certification
  • Hairstylist trade certification
  • A valid barber licence
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with modern hair colouring techniques, including dyes and tints
