About the Role
Zurich Insurance Company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Vice President Property Underwriter to join our team. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for analyzing and underwriting new and renewal business, utilizing our proprietary underwriting framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Underwrite and analyze new and renewal business, ensuring a high level of service to customers.
- Manage an assigned portfolio of accounts, developing and maintaining relationships with brokers and clients.
- Provide technical guidance, assistance, and training to new underwriters.
- Qualify accounts to meet within our organization's appetite, balanced with sound business opportunity.
- Cross-sell other lines of business to increase product density.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Experience working on time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business.
- Experience working in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- 7 or more years of large property underwriting experience.
- Bilingual French/English.
- Analytical mindset and inquisitive.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-starter and proactive attitude.
