Job Summary

We are seeking a Personal Support Worker to join our team at Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care. As a Personal Support Worker, you will provide personal care to assist clients in their daily activities and personal hygiene. You will support the clients' physical, social, and emotional needs in a safe manner, in accordance with the organization's resident-centred approach, complying with relevant government standards, residents' rights, and the organization's mission and philosophy.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care to assist clients in their daily activities and personal hygiene
  • Support clients' physical, social, and emotional needs in a safe manner
  • Comply with relevant government standards, residents' rights, and the organization's mission and philosophy
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to provide high-quality care to clients
  • Participate in ongoing learning and development to enhance skills and knowledge

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved Personal Support Worker course in Ontario, or equivalent
  • Experience in long-term care setting an asset
  • Current CPR Certificate
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to take initiative, problem solve, and time manage
  • Ability to work independently as well as be an active, positive team player
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to speak and converse in Chinese an asset

Working Conditions

  • Considerable standing, walking, lifting, and bending
  • Exposure to all resident care elements through regular resident contact
  • Ability to work evening shifts, including weekends and short shifts
