Maintenance Technician

Key Responsibilities:

As an Overnight Maintenance Technician at Oak Island Resort & Conference Centre, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities. This includes:

  • Conducting regular inspections of buildings and systems to identify and address any issues
  • Performing routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and repairing guest rooms, hotel, and chalets
  • Assisting with equipment preventative maintenance and guest room preventative maintenance
  • Conducting repairs on company appliances and building equipment, including HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Monitoring and maintaining pool chemical balances and life safety systems
  • Participating in Occupational Health and Safety initiatives and assisting with fire and safety inspections
  • Liaising with Front desk and Housekeeping to resolve maintenance issues

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a related field, preferably in a similar environment
  • Excellent knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, fire/life/safety systems, pool operations, carpentry, masonry, and wall covering systems
  • Ability to work at heights and on ladders
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the position, including frequent standing and walking, lifting (up to 75lbs), bending and kneeling, and pulling and pushing
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
