About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Lawyer to join our team at Toronto Advocates. As a Lawyer, you will be responsible for providing legal services to clients and working closely with our team to achieve our goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plead Clients' Cases: Represent clients in courts of law, tribunals, and boards, and negotiate settlements of civil disputes.
  • Legal Document Preparation: Draw up legal documents and prepare statements of legal opinion.
  • Research and Evidence Gathering: Research legal precedents and gather evidence to support clients' cases.
  • Mediation and Arbitration: Offer mediation, conciliation, and arbitration services to clients.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Law or a related field.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications: Membership in the Canadian Bar Association, Pega certified professional, and membership in a provincial or territorial law society.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Access, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, MS Windows, MS Word, and MS Project.
Work Environment

As a Lawyer at Toronto Advocates, you will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. You will be required to have excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as attention to detail.
