Job Title: Senior Architectural Millwork Finisher

Mirmil Products, a leading manufacturer of high-end custom millwork, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Architectural Millwork Finisher to join their team in Campbellford, ON.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for applying the final finishes and coatings to high-end custom millwork projects, including cabinetry, doors, moldings, panels, and other architectural elements. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, expertise in finishing techniques, and a commitment to delivering exceptional craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Select and apply appropriate stains, sealers, paints, varnishes, lacquers, and other finishes based on project requirements.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of different wood species and their unique characteristics, ensuring the appropriate application of finishes to achieve desired results.
  • Evaluate finished products to ensure adherence to quality standards, making any necessary touch-ups or adjustments as required.
  • Develop and implement standard procedures for common finishing techniques.
  • Work with the Production Manager to determine achievable schedules and allocation of human resources.
  • Develop and implement training procedures for new employees in the department.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends, techniques, and materials related to architectural millwork finishing, making recommendations for process improvements as appropriate.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience as a Senior Architectural Millwork Finisher or similar role.
  • Demonstrated experience working on high-end custom millwork projects, such as cabinetry, paneling, doors, and trim.
  • Experience with automated finishing equipment would be considered an asset.
  • A portfolio showcasing previous work and projects will be highly advantageous.
  • Familiarity with WHMIS and associated safety standards.
