Job Title: Senior System Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior System Architect to join our team at ADGA Group. As a Senior System Architect, you will be responsible for providing expert systems engineering support to the Land Command Support System (LCSS) Mobile Domain (MD) program and the Tactical Communication system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert systems engineering support to the LCSS MD program and the Tactical Communication system.
  • Draft, review, and provide comments on technical documentation, including use cases, system requirements, architecture, design, development, integration, and test documents.
  • Participate in the LCSS Mobile Domain Architectural Working Group and Mobile Domain Steering Committee.
  • Develop and maintain system-level design artifacts, including mission threads, system use cases, services, Enterprise Architect System Model, and managed interface control documents.
  • Evaluate and provide recommendations for the resolution of system-level issues and design options.
  • Support the development and prioritization of system integration test cases, the production of test reports, and the tracking, classification, prioritization, and resolution of system problems reports.
  • Provide support for system modeling and simulation, including installation instructions, production of simulation modules, evaluation of simulation support environments and scenarios, and production of simulation design documentation.
  • Support the staffing of system artifacts through the LCSS System Engineering Process, including the Network Engineering Working Group, the Engineering Control Board, and the System Engineering Working Group.
  • Arrange and participate in system-level reviews, including design and requirement reviews, integration and test readiness reviews, and oversee the production of meeting minutes.
  • Provide independent verification and validation of system management deliverables.
  • Participate in system management technical reviews, including system requirements reviews, design reviews, integration and test readiness reviews.
  • Support the engineering team in the execution of existing engineering processes and defining engineering process improvements, as well as providing technical advice and guidance on engineering processes for the Mobile Domain and Tactical Communication subsystems.
  • Support the engineering team in managing the various Mobile Domain and Tactical Communication systems baselines by providing technical advice and guidance on architecture, installation, configuration, and/or operation for the Mobile Domain and Tactical Communication subsystems and equipment used in various platforms.
  • Support the engineering team in packaging the various Mobile Domain and Tactical Communication systems baselines by providing technical advice and guidance on packaging considerations to support the Mobile Domain and Tactical Communication system architecture, installation, configuration, and/or operation for the Mobile Domain and Tactical Communication subsystems and equipment used in various platforms.
Requirements:
  • Must be eligible to apply for the Secret Level 2 security clearance and work on-site full-time in Gatineau.
  • Proof of STEM bachelor's degree in network, software, computer, systems, electrical, or a suitable engineering or technical field required to support Land C4ISR.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a System Architect on Military Command and Control Communication and Information systems or ISTAR systems.
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience within the last 6 years in the preparation of technical concept documents, system specifications, and technical proposals in the field of Information Technology/Information management or engineering.
  • Must have demonstrated Professional Engineer License within Canada.
  • 10+ years of related experience.
  • Developing architecture in one or more of the following areas: System-of-Systems level architecture for C4ISR systems, System requirements gathering for complex systems, System level architecture for command-and-control communication and information systems within a distributed platform environment, System level architecture for command-and-control communication and information system within a Client/Server environment, ISTAR System level architecture for Military C4ISR systems, and Data architecture definition and implementation for C4ISR systems or similar systems.
  • Analyzing, designing, and/or implementing solutions in one or more of the following areas: Command and control communication and information systems within a distributed platform environment, Command and control communication and information systems within a client/server environment, Military ISTAR systems, Joint or Allied C4ISR Interoperability solutions using NATO Standardization Agreements, and System management solutions (tools and processes) for communication & information systems and/or ISTAR systems.
  • Demonstrated work experience in system integration, verification, and validation, for hardware and software components (COTS and/or custom developed) in new or existing systems, in one of the following areas: Command and control communication and information systems within a distributed platform environment, Command and control communication and information systems within a client/server environment, Military ISTAR systems, Joint or Allied C4ISR Interoperability solutions using NATO Standardization Agreements, and System management solutions (tools and processes) for communication & information systems and/or ISTAR systems.
  • Demonstrated work experience as a systems engineer in communication and information systems (Hardware, Software and Network) or Specialty engineering (Security, Modeling, Simulation, ISTAR).
  • Minimum of 6 years' experience in at least 4 of this assessment area's criteria below: Communicating information technology frameworks/strategies to management and technical staff, Communicating system engineering direction for projects or systems, Providing advice, guidance, and recommendations on technical issues to support the decision-making of senior management, Leading multidisciplinary teams in the development of IT tactical systems, frameworks, or strategies, Performing strategic, operational, or tactical planning for projects or systems to meet corporate strategy.
