As a Compassionate Community Champion, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our animal welfare mission and promoting a culture of kindness and respect within our community. This leadership position requires a visionary leader who can create and convey a compelling vision to others, inspiring them to join forces and achieve our shared goals.
You will be responsible for leading and supporting the Board of Directors in developing and implementing a strategic plan and yearly operational plans. Additionally, you will foster a positive workplace culture by leading, coaching, and empowering management to meet their professional goals and objectives.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of animal welfare issues, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to navigate complex relationships with stakeholders. Experience working with government officials, media, and as an ambassador for a similar organization is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and execute comprehensive financial and operational plans that align with strategic objectives and deliver results.
- Develop and implement standards, processes, and controls to ensure program quality and sustainability.
- Build and manage relationships with donors, volunteers, municipal, provincial, and federal government officials, animal welfare groups, the business community, neighbouring humane societies, and other strategic partners.
- Represent the organization and serve as its primary spokesperson, managing strategic messaging and serving as its key brand champion and voice in the community.
