Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Class 1 driver to join our team at Cooper Equipment Rentals. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for delivering and picking up heavy equipment, ensuring timely and safe transportation of our fleet.

Key Responsibilities
  • Load and unload equipment, securing it per company procedure and inspecting in transit as needed.
  • Deliver and pick up equipment, maintaining accurate delivery and pickup records.
  • Secure customer signatures on contracts, if not already signed.
  • Inform supervisors of difficulties with deliveries or pickups.
  • Inform management of new sales opportunities and job sites.
  • Double-check delivered items to ensure customers receive exactly what they ordered.
  • Communicate with dispatch if behind schedule, notifying customers accordingly.
  • Instruct customers on equipment operation.
  • Perform vehicle inspections daily, checking gas, oil, and other fluid levels.
Requirements
  • Valid Class 1 driver's license with a clean or satisfactory driver's abstract (no more than three demerit points).
  • Minimum of 5 years of commercial driving experience, preferably with heavy construction equipment.
  • Familiarity with local roads and comfort with manual transmission.
  • Availability to work overtime when required.
  • Flexibility to manage and adapt to multiple changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
