About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Aliaxis. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes, driving innovation, and ensuring the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional teams in developing forward-thinking manufacturing strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancement, cost reduction, and waste elimination using Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, contractors, and suppliers to drive collective success and achieve business objectives.
  • Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and creativity within the team.
  • Innovate cutting-edge manufacturing systems integration, data analytics, and Industry 4.0 technologies to drive business growth and improvement.
  • Ensure seamless integration of disparate systems for enhanced productivity and agility.
  • Establish stringent quality control measures employing Six Sigma methodologies to achieve zero defects.
  • Champion sustainability practices, energy efficiency, and waste reduction initiatives to minimize the company's environmental footprint.
  • Responsible for run preparation, PSSR meetings, and post-run evaluations to ensure smooth production processes.
  • Apply Six Sigma principles for process optimization and defect reduction, utilizing data analysis for continual improvement.
  • Stay updated on international manufacturing standards, ensuring adherence to ISO, Six Sigma, and other quality frameworks.
  • Develop process parameter windows and standards to ensure consistency and quality across production lines.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or another related Technical field is required.
  • Certification as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA is preferred.
  • LEAN Six Sigma green belt certification or equivalent is an asset.
  • Experience in the extrusion industry is an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience in tool design, fabrication, machining, and welding methods.
  • Must have a solid understanding of Project Management, Lean Principles & Six Sigma.
  • Proficiency in data analytics, predictive modeling, and change leadership.

Working Conditions

  • Employee may be exposed to a moderate level of hazards in the work environment, such as moving machinery, excessive noise, powered industrial vehicle fork/reach/bucket lift/other.
  • Work in office environment with long periods of sitting.

Travel

Willing to travel within the Extrusion Plant network.
