We are seeking a skilled Cement Finisher to join our team at Axxion Construction LTD. As a Cement Finisher, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality finish on our construction projects.
Key Responsibilities- Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials to ensure they meet our quality standards.
- Direct the placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade and depth specifications.
- Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement to achieve a smooth finish.
- Operate power vibrators to compact concrete and ensure it is properly set.
- Level the top surface of concrete according to grade and depth specifications.
- Impart the desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools.
- Instruct apprentices on the proper techniques and procedures for cement finishing.
- Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and other fixtures as required.
- Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces and ensure they are properly protected.
- Waterproof, damp proof and restore surfaces to their original condition.
- Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures.
- Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Physically demanding work environment with frequent standing and heavy lifting.
- Ability to work in a team environment and provide excellent oral communication skills.
