The Role

  • Provide leadership, direction and management of the finance and accounting team to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Offer strategic recommendations to the CEO/ President and members of the executive management team to inform business decisions.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial forecasts and budgets, and oversee the preparation of all financial reporting to ensure transparency and accuracy.
  • Advise the CEO and Board of Directors on long-term business and financial planning to ensure strategic alignment.
  • Review, streamline, and refine all formal finance procedures to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Manage capital raises and work closely with the CEO in building the company's reputation with capital markets participants such as industry analysts, investment bankers and stockbrokers.
  • Ensure all regulatory requirements are met to maintain compliance and avoid risk.

Requirements

  • Hold a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification or equivalent experience.
  • Have experience in a Senior leadership position with a proven track record of success.
  • Have experience with corporate governance and regulatory compliance.
  • Have experience with leading funding rounds and managing capital raises.
  • Have experience leading a financial/accounting team to drive business results.
  • Have an interest in the cannabis industry and its growth potential.
