Job Title: Fitness Floor Staff

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Fitness Floor Staff to join our team at the City of Brampton. As a Fitness Floor Staff, you will be responsible for supervising the fitness floor, delivering high-quality fitness experiences, and promoting membership opportunities that are stimulating and enjoyable for all participants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the fitness floor and engage with participants to promote a positive experience and ensure everyone's safety
  • Conduct tours of the fitness centre and promote memberships and services
  • Provide exceptional front-line customer service, including greeting and engaging participants
  • Perform consultations/orientations according to City of Brampton protocol
  • Maintain complete vigilance while on duty and be responsive to any emergency situation
  • Deliver fitness programs following required standards
  • Complete administrative duties in a timely manner, including attendance, incident/accident reports, and opening and closing procedures
  • Maintain a safe and tidy program space, ensuring equipment is set up and stored appropriately
  • Report all concerns, accidents, and incidents to the immediate supervisor and take appropriate action
  • Participate in on-site and off-site promotional and community events
  • Maintain an understanding of department programs and services
  • Understand, adhere to, and enforce Corporate Policies & Procedures, Confidentiality Guidelines, Emergency Procedures, and Health and Safety Standards for all participants and staff
  • Attend meetings/training as required

Selection Criteria:

  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Registered Kinesiologist, Certified Personal Trainer, or Fitness Instructors Certification from an accredited organization
  • Degree/Diploma in Physical Education/Kinesiology/Recreation considered an asset
  • Current Standard First Aid/CPR C from an accredited organization, or the ability to obtain within 1 month of date of hire
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Permanent residency in Brampton
