About the Role

Pacifica Housing is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance functions to ensure the upkeep of our properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out repairs and maintenance activities as required, including plumbing, appliance, drywall, painting, and minor electrical repairs.
  • Perform residential installations and assemblies, including doors, blinds, and other fixtures.
  • Post notices as instructed by the Property Services Coordinator or Manager of Maintenance, such as Notice to End Tenancy and Notices to Enter.
  • Clean and repair units upon turnover, adhering to the Society's specifications.
  • Report safety or accident/injury incidents to the Manager of Maintenance or Property Services Coordinator.
  • Complete required paperwork, including maintenance work orders and mileage claims, and submit to the Manager of Maintenance.
  • Maintain cordial and cooperative relationships with Supportive Housing staff and tenants.
  • Work independently to meet deadlines and complete assignments as arranged.
  • Report to the Manager of Maintenance regarding issues resolved, those needing attention, and those currently in progress.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience as a maintenance technician or similar position, preferably in a non-profit housing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in a building maintenance role.
  • Experience using hand and electrical tools.
  • Preferred 2 years' experience in suite renovations/building maintenance.
Additional Criteria
  • Completion of a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check is required before employment commences.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle with a minimum of $2 million liability 'business class' insurance.
  • Must be available to be on call in off-hours for emergency call-out.
  • Must hold a Basic First Aid Certificate.
