Software Development Manager, Core Listings Experience

- About the Role:
- As a Software Development Manager at Amazon Development Centre Canada ULC, you will be responsible for leading a high-performing team of listings specialists and product managers in the development of a world-class listing experience.
- The ideal candidate will have experience in designing or architecting new and existing systems, as well as leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services.
- You will collaborate cross-functionally with teams like content, catalog, and seller support to streamline the selling partner experience by minimizing any redundant or repetitive actions.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Own the end-to-end experience for sellers to get their listings live on Amazon, from initial setup to ongoing optimization.
- Develop and optimize selling partner experiences to make the listing creation and management process more intuitive and efficient for sellers.
- Analyze selling partner feedback and usage data to continuously enhance the listings experience.
- Hire, develop, and lead a high-performing team of listings specialists and product managers.
- A Day in the Life:
- You will solve unique and complex problems at a rapid pace, utilizing the latest technologies to create solutions that are highly scalable.
- You will influence the strategic direction of the team's architecture and will also influence the roadmaps of other teams that overlap in business or technical domains.
- Requirements:
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
