About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Research Ethics and Security team at Simon Fraser University as a Research Ethics Coordinator. In this role, you will provide comprehensive and timely assistance to the research community in navigating the research ethics review and oversight process.

You will work closely with faculty researchers and the Research Ethics Board (REB) to ensure that research applications are complete, consistent, and compliant with REB required standards prior to review. Your support will also be crucial in assisting the Board with the study review process, helping to determine if the study meets the requirements of various regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organize and manage large volumes of complex information and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with researchers, faculty members, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance and support to researchers on research ethics regulations and guidelines.
  • Assist with the review and approval process for research applications.
  • Collaborate with the REB to ensure that research is conducted in accordance with ethical standards.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Health Sciences or Social Sciences, and at least three years of experience in a highly regulated administrative environment, such as research ethics or clinical/behavioral research.

You will also possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Additionally, you will have a positive demeanor, be solutions-oriented, and have a demonstrated ability to manage conflict and prioritize tasks.
