We are seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team at the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance. With a focus on providing exceptional patient care, this role is ideal for a nurse who is passionate about delivering high-quality care in an acute setting.

Job Summary

This part-time Registered Practical Nurse position will work in our Emergency Department and Inpatient Unit in Clinton. As a member of our interprofessional care team, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care while adhering to the scope of practice defined by the College of Nurses of Ontario.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to adults and pediatrics in the emergency department and inpatient unit
  • Assess patients' physical and emotional needs, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate their effectiveness
  • Administer medications, perform wound care, and provide IV therapy as required
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless transitions between departments
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
Requirements
  • Certificate of Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Minimum 2 years recent nursing experience in an acute care setting, preferably in emergency medicine
  • Completion of 12-lead ECG interpretation and basic cardiac arrhythmia interpretation courses
  • Current BLS certification
  • Medication administration skills, including IV drug administration
  • Experience working with adult and pediatric populations
