Environmental Permitting Specialist

Hatfield Consultants is seeking a highly skilled Intermediate Permitting Specialist to join our Water Resource Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on environmental regulations and permitting processes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide guidance on local, provincial, and federal environmental requirements, including regulations, policies, and guidelines.
- Coordinate and integrate information from multidisciplinary technical teams to ensure project compliance.
- Review materials for adequacy with respect to regulatory submissions related to permitting.
- Author and compile content for reports and regulatory documents, and provide support for application submission.
- Ensure project compliance with schedules and budgets, including financial controls and reporting.
- Undergraduate degree or higher in an environmental field, and professional registration or eligibility for a relevant designation.
- A minimum of 3 years experience supporting permitting and regulatory compliance of mining and/or water-related projects.
- Experience in project management, including proposal writing, administration, and closure.
- Experience with multidisciplinary projects, baseline characterization, environmental impact assessment, permitting processes, and monitoring and annual reporting.
- Technical training and/or experience with water or environmental science, mine water management, mitigations, and options assessment.
- Experience engaging and working with Indigenous communities and stakeholders.
- Analytical skills applicable to study design and statistical analysis or environmental data.
