Safety Manager

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Officer/Coordinator to join our team at Next Level Group in Charlottetown, PE. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs and policies to ensure a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and Implement Safety Programs: Create, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations.
- Conduct Safety Audits and Inspections: Regularly conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Investigate Incidents and Accidents: Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Deliver Safety Training: Coordinate and deliver safety training programs for employees, including orientation, refresher courses, and specialized training as needed.
- Maintain Safety Records: Maintain accurate records of safety-related activities, including training, inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.
- Liaise with Regulatory Agencies: Liaise with regulatory agencies, insurance representatives, and other external parties on safety-related matters.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and other stakeholders to ensure safety is integrated into all phases of project planning and execution.
- Enforce Safety Protocols: Monitor and enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols on job sites.
- Stay Current with Industry Developments: Stay current with industry best practices, trends, and advancements in safety technology and methodologies.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a safety role, preferably within the construction or electrical contracting industry.
- Certifications: Professional certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Construction Safety Officer (CSO), or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Skills: Thorough knowledge of local, provincial, and federal safety regulations and standards. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct thorough investigations and risk assessments. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and influence others.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
- Travel Requirements: Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites as needed.
