A highly motivated Mechanical Engineer is sought to join our team at ABB Measurement & Analytics in Quebec. This role involves working as part of a dynamic and multidisciplinary team, responsible for the mechanical aspects related to the design, manufacturing, and commissioning of several product development projects. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with experience in designing and developing complex systems.
Main Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components and systems that meet customer specifications and requirements.
- Work closely with colleagues to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design plans and specification sheets.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to customers on mechanical design and development.
- Contribute to the development of new products and technologies, through research and innovation initiatives.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and apply this knowledge to improve our designs and solutions.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, with five to ten years of experience in designing and developing complex systems.
- Strong understanding of materials science, mechanical manufacturing processes, and geometric tolerancing principles.
- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and computer-aided design (CAD) software is an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Fluency in both French and English, with the ability to communicate complex ideas simply and clearly.
