Role Overview

A highly motivated Mechanical Engineer is sought to join our team at ABB Measurement & Analytics in Quebec. This role involves working as part of a dynamic and multidisciplinary team, responsible for the mechanical aspects related to the design, manufacturing, and commissioning of several product development projects. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with experience in designing and developing complex systems.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Design and develop mechanical components and systems that meet customer specifications and requirements.
  2. Work closely with colleagues to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes.
  3. Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design plans and specification sheets.
  4. Provide expert advice and guidance to customers on mechanical design and development.
  5. Contribute to the development of new products and technologies, through research and innovation initiatives.
  6. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and apply this knowledge to improve our designs and solutions.

Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, with five to ten years of experience in designing and developing complex systems.
- Strong understanding of materials science, mechanical manufacturing processes, and geometric tolerancing principles.
- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and computer-aided design (CAD) software is an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Fluency in both French and English, with the ability to communicate complex ideas simply and clearly.
