About the Role

Zida Academy is seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at our child care centre. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and engaging environment for children to learn and grow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Child Care and Supervision: Bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers, and supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers.
  • Education and Training: Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children, and lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest.
  • Record Keeping: Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records, and submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors.
  • Communication: Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings, and establish collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
Requirements
  • Education: Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, and a College/CEGEP diploma.
  • Certifications: Emergency child care first aid and CPR, Food allergy and anaphylaxis training, and a Vulnerable sector check.
  • Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work in a team environment.
