Aquatic Safety Specialist & Swim Educator

The Arbutus Club is a premier private club offering a range of facilities and programs. We are seeking an experienced Aquatic Safety Specialist & Swim Educator to join our team.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and instruction of club members and guests using the aquatic facilities
  • Provide first aid as needed and respond to emergencies
  • Teach swimming lessons to students of all ages
  • Perform maintenance and related work as required

Requirements & Qualifications

  • National Lifeguard Certification - Pool Option
  • Water Safety Instructor Certification
  • Lifesaving Instructor and Aquafit Instructor an asset
  • Standard First Aid, CPR-C certification
  • Occupational First Aid Level 1 - to be obtained within 3 months of employment
  • Sound knowledge of rules and regulations governing safety in an indoor aquatic facility
  • Minimum of 1-year experience instructing the Red Cross Swim Program or equivalent
  • Knowledge and practice of Lifesaving, Lifeguarding, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, and First Aid
  • Demonstrated ability to handle a variety of service situations in a busy aquatic facility
