Job Opportunity: Geotechnical Materials Testing Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Geotechnical Materials Testing Specialist to join our team in Fort McMurray, AB. As a key member of our Geotechnical Operations Support team, you will be responsible for conducting various tests, including Proctor, sieve analysis, and moisture content, to support construction quality control of mine earth structures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect and analyze samples to ensure accurate test results
  • Perform lab tests, including standard Proctor, sieve analysis, and moisture content
  • Follow established procedures and guidelines to ensure quality and accuracy
Requirements:
  • Currently enrolled or recently graduated in an Engineering Technologist program, Engineering, or Geology program in a field related to Mining (Civil, Geological, Geology) from a recognized school
  • Ability to carry 20 kg 100m over rough terrain continuously
  • Highly motivated individual with good leadership and communication/networking skills
  • Possess a valid Class 5 Alberta driver's license or equivalent out of province license with a reasonably clean driver abstract, off-road experience is an asset
