Nursery Worker Job Description

PBN Nurseries Ltd. is seeking a skilled Nursery Worker to join our team. As a key member of our nursery team, you will be responsible for the care and maintenance of our deciduous trees, fruit trees, and ornamental trees, shrubs, and hedges.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the care and maintenance of trees, shrubs, and plants, including watering, pruning, and fertilizing.
  • Perform tasks such as mixing fertilizer, removing suckers and water sprouts, and tying and securing plants.
  • Assist in grafting activities and dig up wrapping rootballs of trees and shrubs.
  • Report signs of insect or disease damage and assist in pruning trees, shrubs, and plants.
  • Perform weeding, cleaning work areas, and assist in transplanting seedlings or rooted cuttings.
  • Apply fertilizers and assist in mixing and preparing soils.
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens.
Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced outdoor environment with exposure to wet/damp and hot conditions. Staff accommodation is provided.

Requirements:
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Will train.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment with repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, and standing for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, crouch, and kneel.
  • Up to 45 kg (100 lbs) weight handling.
