The Simulator Technician 2 role is a critical position at WestJet, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our training devices. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing complex systems to meet regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain all training devices to regulatory standards, ensuring a safe and reliable environment for our pilots and guests.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with complex systems, using your expertise to resolve problems efficiently.
- Perform preventive maintenance and testing on all training devices, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.
- Document all procedures, processes, and daily activities accurately and thoroughly.
- Assist with Quality Test Guides (QTGs) and identify areas for improvement.
- Research and submit requests for required parts, ensuring timely delivery and installation.
- Completion of the WestJet Simulator Technician Apprenticeship Program or minimum 4 years of equivalent work experience.
- CAE Flight Simulator experience is an asset.
- Proven ability to work as part of a team and unsupervised, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly motivated, organized, and priority-driven, with intermediate knowledge of aircraft systems, avionics, and theory of flight.
- Ability to work with hand and shop tools, and lift 50 pounds.
- Able to work in a 24/7 environment, with shift work required.
