Job Title: Cashier

Job Summary:

Giant Tiger is seeking a skilled Cashier to join our team. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, operating a cash register, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Operate a cash register, accurately processing transactions and handling customer payments.
  • Restock merchandise, maintain a clean and organized store environment, and ensure that all areas are tidy and well-stocked.
  • Follow health and safety policies and guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including loss prevention best practices and tobacco and lottery sales protocols.

Requirements:

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, bend, twist, and squat, and lift up to 18 kg (40 lbs.).

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position, with a typical schedule consisting of day shifts, two evenings per week, and alternating weekends. The physical demands of this position require standing and walking for long periods, as well as lifting and moving merchandise.

Keyholder Premium:

As a Keyholder, you will be responsible for opening and closing the store, ensuring that all areas are tidy and well-stocked, and performing security tasks, including locking and setting the alarm.

Employee Universal Accountabilities:

As an employee of Giant Tiger, you will be expected to provide exceptional customer service, follow health and safety policies and guidelines, and comply with all company policies and procedures.
