Job Summary

As a Liquor Sales Associate at Saskatoon Co-op, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and promoting the sale of liquor products.

Responsibilities
  1. Align with the Saskatoon Co-op Brand and Values.
  2. Display a positive, professional approach and attitude during work hours.
  3. Wear the accepted Co-op uniform and Personal Protective Equipment as required.
  4. Be dependable for all scheduled shifts.
  5. Meet the expectations of internal and external customers.
  6. Perform all tasks required in a liquor store, including but not limited to: store opening and closing, cashiering, stocking, receiving, preparing commercial and online orders, snow removal, cleaning and sanitizing.
  7. Understand products and services offered to promote the sale of goods and services to meet customer needs, requirements, and expectations.
  8. Order, receive, and display merchandise as directed and per Saskatoon Co-op policies and procedures.
  9. Operate the point-of-sale system efficiently and conduct financial transactions in adherence with Saskatoon Co-op policies.
  10. Operate manual and power mobile equipment in the store safely and proficiently.
  11. Adhere to loss prevention policies and strategies.
  12. Review and act on reports as they pertain to the section and as directed by the manager.
  13. Understand and adhere to Saskatoon Co-op policies and procedures, particularly the Selling Age Restricted Items policy.
  14. Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly location at all times.
  15. Perform all duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Be at least 19 years of age.
  • Have or be willing to obtain Serve It Right Saskatchewan.
  • Be strongly service-oriented and motivated, capable of serving and assisting customers in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Be prepared to increase product knowledge and improve selling techniques through special courses, product clinics, and training sessions.
  • Demonstrate the ability to fulfill physical job requirements, including the lifting and carrying of 50-75 lbs. of force occasionally, 10-20 lbs. of force constantly, and the ability to climb ladders.
  • Experience in the liquor industry will be considered an asset.
  • Preference will be given to those who possess enhanced knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer. A product knowledge test may be required to determine eligibility.
  • Be able to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
