About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Full Stack Developer to join our team at Element Fleet Management. As a Full Stack Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining multi-layer APIs using a variety of programming languages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and other modern technologies
  • Implement back-end features using Java, Spring Boot, and other modern technologies
  • Create and manage microservices
  • Implement front-end features using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React
  • Write unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests via TDD
  • Optimize the stack for performance, security, and scalability within new projects and existing code
  • Work with our DevOps team to improve our CI/CD pipeline
  • Follow best practices and coding standards
  • Document code and functionality
  • Contribute to component library to ensure robust component-based framework
  • Contribute to creation and sustaining measurable and actionable development KPIs

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or commensurate work experience
  • 5+ years of experience as an API or back-end developer or similar role
  • Development experience with AWS cloud services (Lambdas, API Gateway, Graphql, EKS, ECS, AWS Cli, AppSync)
  • Cloud DevOps experience (Code pipeline, Code build, Shell scripting)
  • Proven experience with strongly-typed OOP back-end programming, its associated concepts and patterns
  • Experience with development tools such as Maven, NuGet, etc.
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases such as PostGres, MongoDB, etc.
  • Experience with Git as a version control tool and a branching methodology such as GitFlow
  • Experience with developing net new microservices
  • Experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins
  • Preference given to candidates with containerization knowledge such as Docker, Kubernetes
  • Preference given to candidates that also have experience with Angular, Node, Typescript
  • Preference given to candidates that write/use tooling to facilitate/streamline their work
  • A TDD mindset to write unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests
