Job Description

This role will provide administrative support to the Workforce Manager, contributing to our workforce planning and recruitment efforts. You will be responsible for screening resumes, conducting interviews, and maintaining accurate databases of potential workers. Additionally, you will assist with filing necessary documentation, coordinate safety training, and treat all documentation, wage information, and personal information in a confidential manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support workforce planning and recruitment efforts by assisting with resume screening and interviewing
  • Maintain accurate databases of potential workers
  • Filing necessary documentation: resumes, jobsite information, apprenticeship, safety tickets, etc.
  • Coordinating safety training for new hires as per job requirements
  • Assure all documentation, wage information, and personal information is treated in a confidential manner
  • Communicate compensation packages to new hires
  • Confirm technical qualifications with provincial apprenticeship boards and other certificate issuing authorities
  • Work with the team to collect apprenticeship documents
  • Answer phone calls and emails from candidates or potential candidates

Requirements:

  • Pursuing a degree or diploma with a Human Resources Major preferred
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of various computer programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook)
  • Proactive in anticipating needs and follow-up items for the project team
  • Able to maintain confidentiality required of work assignments and independent and resourceful to accomplish day-to-day tasks and assignments
  • Demonstrate initiative and handle multiple tasks and changing priorities under tight deadlines, while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and professionalism
