Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Bakery Department Manager to join our team at Longo's. As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for leading the Bakery department to ensure exceptional customer service and sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hire, train, and develop a high-performing team of Bakery staff
  • Lead and motivate the team to achieve sales targets and maintain high standards of customer service
  • Manage inventory, merchandise, and scheduling to optimize sales and profitability
  • Implement initiatives to drive sales growth and improve customer engagement
  • Monitor local competitors and adjust strategies to stay ahead in the market
  • Provide exceptional customer service and resolve customer complaints in a timely and professional manner

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a bakery department with management experience and product knowledge
  • Ability to decorate cakes and pastries
  • Strong understanding of financials and ability to deliver on financial targets
  • Strong computer skills and ability to quickly learn new systems
  • Understanding of Employment Standards, WHMIS, Food Safety, and Loss Prevention practices
  • Ability to role model and inspire behavior consistent with our values

Work Environment:

This is a full-time position that requires working days, evenings, and weekends. Travel may be required to support off-site events.
