Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Taxation and Accounting Manager to join our team at LG Electronics Canada, Inc. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong understanding of taxation and accounting principles, as well as excellent communication and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare year-end tax provisions and review provisions to return-true-ups.
  • Prepare tax returns for corporate income and sales taxes.
  • Assist with the transfer pricing audit.
  • Coordinate and manage/assist with tax audits, inquiries and notices from tax authorities.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to various business departments on tax related matters (VAT/EHF/CIT/Custom duties etc.).
  • Coordinate with external consultants on addressing various tax issues arising from in-bound/out-bound arrangements.
  • Do tax research and prepare technical memos addressing tax issues identified.
  • Preparing cash tax forecasts and a cash tax payment plan for the Treasury team.

Accounting Responsibilities

  • Responsible for assisting with monthly closing and year-end financial statement audit.
  • Perform GL and financial statement analysis for tax related accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Tax, CPA required.
  • CPA In-Depth Program or equivalent (Preferred).
  • Advanced Tax Level 2 (Preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years of post-designation experience in Canadian corporate tax and commodity tax. Experience working in a professional services firm is preferred.
  • Exposure to international tax is a strong asset.
  • Prior supervisory experience.
  • Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast-paced setting. Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel, PPT and Word.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, supervisory and customer service skills required.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.
  • Bilingualism in English/Korean would be considered an asset.
