Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and independent individual to join Cansel as a Property Accountant. This role will involve providing support to the property accounting team in the preparation of financial reporting and offering technical accounting expertise.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of residential units, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

Record, verify, and reconcile rent payments, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Review Leases and rent rolls, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.

Set up tenants and vendors in the accounting system, ensuring seamless integration and data accuracy.

Process payable, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices.

Prepare reconciliations and update financial schedules, providing a clear and transparent view of the company's financial position.

Assist with year-end financials and GST returns, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

File documents and perform other tasks as assigned by the Controller.

About You

1-3 years of experience in full-cycle accounting (A/R, A/P, and GL), preferably in a property management context.

Post-secondary education in accounting, with a strong understanding of financial principles and practices.

Close attention to detail and solid organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Excellent verbal, phone, and email communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.

Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, with the ability to maintain and organize data records.

Autonomous, friendly, and able to handle fast-paced environments with ease.
