The Role of the Asset Remarketing Specialist
The Asset Remarketing Specialist plays a critical role in maximizing the return on the sale of repossessed or end-of-lease equipment. This position involves close collaboration with various teams, including Asset Management, Asset Remarketing & Recovery, Collections, Legal, Sales, Credit, and Finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and detailed notes are maintained at all times.
- Update the database platform regularly to meet reporting requirements.
- Evaluate equipment returns to determine resale values and determine final asking prices.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to identify the best course of action for resale.
- Negotiate and finalize all sales transactions.
- Prepare documentation to obtain ownership and ensure all items are sold free and clear of any liens.
- Develop a diverse network of contacts, including appraisers, remarketing center partners, and repair facilities.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of policies and procedures within and between departments.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Analyze or investigate select files to identify irregularities.
- Collaborate with the risk-management team to determine future best practices and protect company investments.
- Challenge the status quo and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Construction and transportation equipment background.
- Experience in asset management, asset remarketing, or a related field.
- Strong critical thinking skills to recognize equipment, transaction, and portfolio-related risks and opportunities.
- Complete English proficiency.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset to serve clients from all provinces in Canada.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple and diverse tasks and workflows simultaneously.
- Energetic and high level of integrity and good judgment.
- Good knowledge of the Office suite, especially Word and Excel.
