Job Overview

MNP is a leading national accounting, tax, and business advisory firm in Canada, offering entrepreneurial solutions and opportunities for growth.

This exciting opportunity is for a Co-op Accountant to join our Assurance & Accounting team, providing comprehensive financial information and tailored services to clients.

You will have the chance to develop technical skills in areas like compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping, and tax, as well as apply knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and ASPE.

Responsibilities

  • Set-up files for new clients and manage multiple files simultaneously
  • Perform accounts receivable, accounts payable, capital asset acquisition, and payroll walk-throughs
  • Summarize current financial status by preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other relevant reports
  • Assess the appropriateness of audit evidence for expenses, revenues, and capital asset additions
  • Review and investigate discrepancies in financial entries, documents, and reports

Requirements

  • Completion of a bachelor's degree in commerce or business administration (accounting or finance major preferred)
  • Prerequisites for admission into the CPA Professional Education Program upon commencement of employment
  • Bilingualism in French and English (spoken and written) is required
  • Previous accounting-related office experience is considered an asset
