Project Overview

This role will lead the development and implementation of a large-scale Carbon Capture project at the Lafarge Exshaw plant in Alberta, Canada.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the technical and organizational development of the project, ensuring it is delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

The role will require strong project management skills, process engineering proficiency, and excellent leadership abilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the project development and implementation, ensuring alignment with company vision and goals.
  • Build and lead a multi-disciplinary project team, providing guidance and support to ensure performance and alignment.
  • Develop and manage the project business case, including technical concept, scope, costs, risk analysis, and more.
  • Recruit and develop project team members, providing coaching and mentoring to ensure effective engineering review and project delivery.
  • Support the region's sustainability group with successful grant applications.
  • Deliver against budget, schedule, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Professional Engineer registration with APEGA.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in carbon capture projects.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
