Fruit Farm Labourer

We are seeking a skilled Fruit Farm Labourer to join our team at Manitree Fruit Farm. As a key member of our harvest team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of our crops.
Key Responsibilities:- Apply the technique of hoeing between the row to maintain crop health and prevent weeds from competing with our crops.
- Clean the crops to ensure they meet our high standards for quality and appearance.
- Clear fields of wood and stones to prevent damage to our equipment and crops.
- Grade vegetables and fruits into different grades according to size, shape, colour, and volume to maximize their value in the market.
- Hand harvest vegetables and fruits to ensure they are picked at the optimal time for quality and flavour.
- Plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops to promote healthy growth and maximize yields.
- Tie and secure plants to prevent damage from wind and other environmental factors.
- Train trees to produce more fruit of higher quality through pruning and other techniques.
- Weeding to prevent weeds from competing with our crops.
- Write daily basic progress reports to keep our team informed of our harvest progress.
- Harvest crops at the optimal time to ensure they are of the highest quality.
- Valid driver's licence to transport equipment and crops.
- Own transportation to and from work.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- Physically demanding work requiring the ability to handle heavy loads and work in a variety of weather conditions.
- Ability to distinguish between colours and attention to detail to ensure high-quality crops.
- Standing for extended periods and bending, crouching, and kneeling to perform tasks.
- Combination of sitting, standing, and walking to perform tasks.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Our farm is located in a rural area and offers a unique opportunity to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. As a Fruit Farm Labourer, you will be working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and will be required to handle heavy loads and work in a variety of weather conditions.
Language:The primary language spoken on our farm is English, and we require all employees to be fluent in English to communicate effectively with our team.Hours of Work:
We require our Fruit Farm Labourers to work 40 to 60 hours per week, depending on the season and the needs of our farm.
