Job Role
This role requires a highly experienced individual with expertise in geotechnical and materials engineering. The successful candidate will lead the Geotechnical and Materials team to achieve corporate objectives, focusing on quality, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensuring adherence to Englobe's health and safety protocols
- Managing operations to achieve quality, customer satisfaction, and profitability goals
- Maintaining efficient service delivery, focusing on human resource management and employee engagement
- Participating in Operation Centre meetings and communicating objectives and challenges to team leaders and project managers
- Implementing company policies and operations center guidelines within the service
- Providing technical leadership and mentoring to team leaders, project managers, and other service resources
- Contributing to the succession plan of the Human Resources Department
- Developing training plans and career development opportunities for employees
- Creating budget guidelines for the service and reviewing financial activities against budget
- Representing the company in client meetings and multidisciplinary projects
- Managing a portfolio of projects
- Serving as a senior professional in various projects
- Coordinating and tracking major projects in the service
- Analyzing project planning, resource utilization, and talent acquisition with team leaders and project managers
- Planning, assigning, coordinating, and supervising work performed by the Pavements team
- Overseeing client satisfaction and establishing long-term relationships
- Promoting and developing the local market to increase business in the area under your responsibility
- Supporting business development efforts to increase market share nationally
Your Skills and Qualifications
- University degree in Civil Engineering; post-graduate degree an asset
- Minimum 15 years' experience in major technical and project management functions and business development
- Experience in the engineering consulting field and deep understanding of Geotechnical, Pavements, and Materials Engineering fields
- Member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO)
- Experience in a management role, leadership, autonomy, and ability to establish, maintain, and promote positive working relations
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Willingness and ability to travel throughout Ontario
- Possession of or eligibility to obtain security clearance required
- Demonstrated sensitivity and consideration for occupational health and safety
