Job Summary:

Shermco is seeking a skilled Electrical Commissioning Specialist to join our team in Saskatchewan. As a key member of our technical services team, you will be responsible for providing expert technical assistance and quality service to our clients while maintaining a strong commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide skilled technical assistance and quality service to clients while maintaining a strong commitment to safety.
  • Assess technical issues on-site and provide clients with recommendations for possible repairs or upgrades.
  • Assist other technical staff with technical problems, project management issues, and meeting safety requirements.
  • Manage multiple small jobs by coordinating the effective use of technical staff, equipment, and other resources.
  • Provide mentorship, support, and learning opportunities to junior technical staff.
  • Contribute expertise to projects involving transformer testing, industrial plant and utility relaying protection, metering schemes, switchgear testing/maintenance, power system design, and/or turnkey substations.

Qualifications:
  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum NETA level 2 certification.
  • Experience in an industrial setting.
  • Experience in electrical testing and commissioning.
  • 7/7 shift with camp provided.
  • Experience in an Electrical Engineering Technologist role will be considered an asset.
  • PSE or C.E.T designation will be considered an asset.
  • Cable termination experience with brands such as 3M, Raychem, Pfisterer will be considered an asset.
  • NETA certification is considered an asset.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and clean abstract as fieldwork will be a requirement of this position.
  • Canadian passport is required as some travel is necessary.
