Job Summary

As a Senior Business Analysis Manager at Royal Bank of Canada, you will play a critical role in leading the delivery of business requirements on large-scale programs. This involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure effective project delivery, advocating for the value of business analysis, and building a shared understanding of the BA role within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Communication
    • Collaborate with portfolio management and project management teams to optimize skill and capability fit across the BA team.
    • Advocate for the value of business analysis to business and technology stakeholders, and build a shared understanding of the BA role in the organization.
    • Facilitate conflict resolution by clarifying BA role and responsibilities on projects and programs.
    • Provide guidance, feedback, coaching, and mentoring to build the capabilities of the BA team.
    • Continually enhance skills and build knowledge in all aspects of the organization and within the business analysis domain.
  • Business Analysis Planning
    • Perform stakeholder analysis to identify impacted or influencing groups.
    • Develop plans and accurate estimates for completion of requirements, continuously improving the level of detail and accuracy of estimates.
    • Manage risks, assumptions, and constraints for requirements, and communicate to appropriate parties.
    • Lead requirements prioritization and leverage techniques to drive out business priorities.
  • Requirements Analysis and Documentation
    • Engage large and diverse business stakeholder groups to facilitate requirements discovery, analysis, and review.
    • Apply key elicitation techniques and advanced facilitation techniques to conduct large workshops.
    • Build and maintain a repository of reusable requirements documentation to support future initiatives.
    • Partner with business and solution architects, and technology teams to define business needs and explore, assess, and recommend value-add solution options to support business strategies.
    • Ensure team and stakeholders have knowledge of the RBC requirements process.
    • Participate in requirements effort estimation at project portfolio level.
    • Partner with project management to identify projects' interdependencies.
    • Ensure quality of requirement deliverables and requirements estimates.
    • Resolve requirements conflicts and issues between projects as escalated by the team.
    • Analyze and document scope of the business solution using enterprise-standard requirements process and techniques.
