About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Co-op to join our fast-paced accounting team. As an Accounting Assistant, you will assist the Accounting team with processing accounts payable, month-end reconciliations, and updating company records. This is an excellent opportunity for a sharp and curious student to take their knowledge into practice and learn more about an exciting industry with unique challenges.

**Key Responsibilities:**
• Process accounts payable including communicating with external and internal business partners, validating, processing, and recording invoices.
• Set up vendors in the systems.
• Review internal expense reports along with corporate credit card reconciliations.
• Record bank transactions and apply payment to invoices.
• Prepare intercompany journal entries related to the recording of invoices.
• Assist with the preparation of month-end journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash and prepaids.
• Prepare and update process documentation to ensure that certain accounting policies and internal procedures can be memorialized in writing.

**Requirements:**
• Enrolled in a post-secondary institution seeking a Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• Completion of fundamental accounting courses.
• Pursuing a CPA designation is an asset but not required.
• Practical general accounting experience in a professional or volunteer setting.
• High attention to detail.
• Strong communication, both written and verbal.
• Solid proficiency in MS Office Suite (particularly in Excel), and Google Workspace/G-Suite.
• Proven track record of being self-directed along with exceptional organization and research skills.
• Flexible and willing to go that extra mile to gain more knowledge and experience.
• Demonstrate the capacity to manage ambiguity and shifting priorities while remaining calm and controlled.
