About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Orchard View Builders Ltd. as a key member of our construction and renovation team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Site Preparation: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements, and prepare layouts in conformance to building codes using measuring tools.
  • Material Handling: Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
  • Construction and Installation: Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems, fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
  • Project Management: Schedule and coordinate work on sites, instruct apprentices, and supervise other workers.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work Conditions: The role requires working in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, with frequent bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Physical Capabilities: The job involves handling heavy loads and working in a physically demanding environment.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required, but experience is an asset.
  • Language: English is the primary language of communication.
  • Work Schedule: The role requires working 35 to 40 hours per week.
