Primary Care Clinic Opportunity
The Nexus Primary Care Clinic is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to contribute to our team-based model of care. As a partnership between the Nexus Patient and Community Care Society, Island Health, and Nurses and Nurse Practitioners of BC, we are part of Nanaimo's Primary Care Network.
As a Nurse Practitioner at the Nexus Clinic, you will work collaboratively with Registered Nurses, Allied Health Clinicians, and a Clinical Pharmacist to provide comprehensive patient care. Your responsibilities will include:
- Comprehensive assessment of patients, including diagnosing diseases, disorders, and conditions.
- Initiating treatment, including healthcare management, therapeutic interventions, and prescribing medications.
- Providing medical coordination and participating in multidisciplinary team planning for ongoing patient health needs.
- Participating in the development and operation of a team-based practice-wide program, including health promotion, disease prevention, chronic disease management, and specialty care of specific populations.
- Clinical teaching and preceptorship.
- Clinical administrative services, including healthcare planning, quality improvement activities, and participation in medical audits and peer reviews.

Requirements:
- Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC).
- Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC).
- Experience working in a primary care setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based model of care.
