We are seeking a skilled Hospitalist Physician to join our team at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Medicine.
About the Role
The successful candidate will work as a Hospitalist Physician on the inpatient wards at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, providing direct care to patients with internal medicine conditions and managing and coordinating care plans for patients.
Responsibilities
- Round on patients daily with the attending cardiologist and provide orders and advice to nursing staff regarding patient care.
- Manage and coordinate care plans for patients with internal medicine conditions.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and other academic activities.
Requirements
- MD degree from an accredited medical school.
- Eligibility for an Ontario license.
- Excellent interpersonal and clinical skills.
- Commitment to patient-centered care.
- Eligibility to hold an academic appointment at the rank of Lecturer or higher at the University of Ottawa within the Department of Medicine.
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association.
- Experience teaching medical students and residents (ideal).
