About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Healthcare Professional to join our team at Baycrest Health Sciences.

Job Summary

This is a $76,000 - $91,000 per year, full-time position that requires a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with a passion for delivering exceptional patient care in a long-term care setting. As an RPN at Baycrest, you will have the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive health services to clients and their families.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with RNs to provide sound clinical knowledge and skills, acting as a clinical expert and resource, and providing high-quality client-centered healthcare services from admission through transfers and discharge.
  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate nursing interventions, including medications and treatments within the scope of practice.
  • Perform thorough client assessments.
  • Provide client-centered care as part of an interdisciplinary care team to meet personal, activation, recreation, and spiritual needs of clients.
Qualifications
  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) is required.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification, Level C - Automated External Defibrillator (AED), is required.
  • Experience in Long-Term Care or working with clients in day programs or residents in a Long-Term Care and Community Setting is preferred.
  • Certificate in Dementia Care is preferred.
  • Training in Gentle Persuasive Approach and U-First is preferred.
  • Psi chogeriatric experience, i.e., mental health assessment and intervention, and working with responsive behaviors including various types of dementia, delirium, mental health issues is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including MDS/RAI, Point Click Care, Microsoft Word, and Excel, are preferred.
