Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting Specialist to join our Finance team in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing various monthly and quarterly account reconciliations, ensuring accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.

You will work closely with our Director, Finance to identify process gaps and assist in meeting IFRS compliance standards for all accounting functions. Additionally, you will:

  • Assist with bookkeeping functions of specific entities within our consolidated group as assigned by the Finance team.
  • Prepare and manage accounts payable accrual and prepaid schedules.
  • Assist in US statutory surveys and reports.
  • Assist in period tax filings, including HST and Corporate taxes.
  • Assist in formulating internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and established best practices.
  • Complete and resolve complex reconciliations with high transaction volume and foreign exchange.
  • Assist in implementing changes to improve the use and efficiency of finance processes and corporate financial planning, budget, and cash management functions.
  • Assist in periodic reports for senior management.
  • Assist in the annual audit and quarterly review process.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • A degree in a relevant business or accounting field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • Experience working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas.
  • Experience with US Payroll/1099 filing/BEA surveys/dealing with US State and Federal agencies.
  • Excellent to Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Strong Excel skills and the ability to data extract, mine, and manipulate large volumes of data.

Salary Estimate

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. This estimate is based on industry standards for a Financial Reporting Specialist in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
