Welding Artisan

Ironwood Auto Service Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Metal Fabrication Specialist to join our team. As a Metal Fabrication Specialist, you will be responsible for interpreting welding process specifications, operating manual or semi-automatic welding equipment, and ensuring that welds meet standards and/or specifications.

1. Interpret welding process specifications and read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes.
2. Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment and examine welds to ensure they meet standards and/or specifications.
3. Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment and brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines.
4. Determine weldability of materials and operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products.
5. Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment.

The work environment will be fast-paced with repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, and physically demanding. You will need to stand for extended periods and have good hand-eye co-ordination and attention to detail.
