About the Role

B+H Architects is seeking an Intermediate Healthcare Planner to join our dynamic and progressive team based in our Toronto Studio. Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in managing the deliverables for the medical planning team within the greater project deliverable schedule.
  • Lead the medical planning process within the design team to create department floor plan concepts reflective of operations.
  • Provide expertise on the differences in institutional, ambulatory, and business occupancy environments.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for the client on planning issues.
  • Understand and guide discussions on medical equipment needs.
  • Coordinate all disciplines related to the building design and health planning.
  • Prepare health planning presentation drawings, diagrams, and narratives as well as drawings and specification documents.
  • Provide planning, design, and coordination support on projects and pursuits.
  • Mentor junior team members or other interested colleagues in health planning practices.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5-7 years' experience in Healthcare planning experience required.
  • Clear understanding of the differences in institutional, ambulatory, and business occupancy environments.
  • Clear understanding of applicable codes & building construction systems, materials, and standards.
  • Understanding of healthcare trends.
  • Understanding of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, prints, drawings, and models.
  • Strong computer skills (REVIT, MS Office Suite, Blue Beam).
