We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Estimator to join our team at Custom Quality Manufacturing Elgin Inc. in a permanent position.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and conducting production, inventory, and quality assurance programs. They will assist in preparing estimates, schedules, specifications, and reports, and will have the ability to read blueprints and drawings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and conduct production, inventory, and quality assurance programs
  • Assist in preparing estimates, schedules, specifications, and reports
  • Read blueprints and drawings
  • Manage file management software, enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, project management software, programming software, computer-aided design (CAD), and other relevant tools
  • Collaborate with the team to develop computer applications and robotic equipment and systems
  • Ensure compliance with security and safety protocols, including basic security clearance
  • Manage transportation and travel expenses, including owning a vehicle and using public transportation
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, requiring attention to detail and ability to distinguish between colors and sound discrimination
  • Develop and maintain excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as efficient interpersonal skills and flexibility
Requirements:
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in the field
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years, or equivalent experience
  • Green economy sector experience
  • Development of production processes, work planning, estimating, measuring, and scheduling experience
  • Development of computer applications and robotic equipment and systems experience
